Notebooks

How can we find material support that could serve as a record, as a space for artistic intervention that would last beyond the lived experiences? The concept of shared notebooks was developed through which numerous people from various groups could intervene, transforming these notebooks into collective objects used in multiple ways. The purpose of these notebooks was to situate them as a subtle yet expressive record of the various practices that were developed. Thoughts on dance exercises, images, scripts for a film, distorted self-portraits, visions of a world map, electric wires running through pages, and stencils that were repeated obsessively made these notebooks a parallel and imaginary memory of what happened. Many were lost along the way, but some survived their hectic life. The notebooks in a cardboard box were transported in the team's cars to meet the groups. They got dirty, adapting to the shapes of schoolbags wherever they went. The examples that remain are few, but they are fat and rich. They became a blurred but strong evidence of BOWING.
