The artistic workshops conducted in schools throughout 2021 and 2022 were an essential and major focus of this project. Sessions took place at the São Teotónio School Group, the Damião de Odemira Basic School 2/3, the Dr. Manuel Candeias Gonçalves Secondary School in Odemira, and the Professional School of Odemira, involving classes ranging from the 4th grade to the 12th grade, encompassing over 150 students. With weekly regularity, including during the Covid-19 pandemic when activities took place online, these sessions consisted of an artistic intersection of various themes related to school subjects as well as the Portuguese language. The team had the support and collaboration of the teachers, coordinating the artistic subjects with the curriculum with them. The team's most significant challenge was the cultural mix and interaction between migrant and Portuguese students, with a cultural gap and a lack of interest in communication. Engaging and maintaining the Portuguese students' interest proved difficult, as only the migrant students wanted to participate in the performance. However, the evolution over the years was evident. With the development of relationships and increasingly stimulating proposals that were brought to the classes (due to a better understanding of the cultures and interests of the students), it was possible to achieve rich artistic and human perspectives. The videos on this page belong to the activities related to the project's first year. They were filmed and edited by Pavel Tavares.
