Hands-OnBack

Avoiding the mass solution of turning to intensive agriculture, BOWING Hands-On aims to approach the specific interests, knowledge, and desire to live in a Portuguese environment that some individuals, among the large group of migrants, have as their objective. Acknowledging their talents and capabilities, we put these skills to the test in controlled environments to then approach a restaurant owner or agricultural property and suggest the possibility of integrating this person in the environment (e.g., a restaurant within a school, hotel, room service, table service, kitchen assistance, Asian cuisine for events, concerts, classes of traditional Indian singing or instruments like tablas and harmonium, animal care, woodcutting, non-industrial open-field agricultural work). Vasco Almeida, who did communications at Lavrar o Mar, also built many CVs to send to regional companies and employers. We are proceeding slowly, but there are already some successful cases where a group of Nepalese and Indian people have secured employment with contracts, suitable housing, and the possibility of bringing their families in the future.
